How does a State Regulating Board affect me?
Licensees are randomly selected by an auditing group determined by the Board. After license renewal, this group generates a letter to the Licensee indicating they have been randomly selected for a retrospective audit of their completed CEs. The Licensee is required to keep paper certificates of their completed CEs anywhere from 4-6 years depending on their State's laws. If you cannot provide proof of your CEs, you are found to be non-compliant. The penalties vary in each state for non-compliance; including one time waiver, fines, suspensions, probation and additional CEs.
